Calouste Gulbenkian Chair on Global Health

The Calouste Gulbenkian Chair on Global Health was created at the NOVA Medical School/Faculdade de Ciências Médicas, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, in 2013. The aim of the Calouste Gulbenkian Chair on Global Health is to train health professionals, both at pre and postgraduate levels, to be able to understand, analyse, investigate and improve Global Health, with a particular emphasis on Noncommunicable Diseases and on Mental Health.

The interdisciplinary curricular activities provide the key elements for understanding the main determinants of health and the relationship between health and political, social and economic development, particularly on low- and middle-income countries.

The activities of the Chair provide a basis on which students can build their own curriculum in Global Health, with the courses and resources offered by the Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
